Arrive at Cuyabeno Bridge around 2:00 p.m., where the Amazon adventure officially begins. After a box lunch and final preparations, board a motorized canoe and navigate through the blackwater rivers of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve toward Amazon Lodge.

During the journey, discover the beauty of the flooded forest ecosystem while observing the first signs of Amazonian wildlife, including birds, monkeys, reptiles, and aquatic species. Upon arrival at the lodge, settle into your accommodation, enjoy dinner, and receive an introduction to the rainforest ecosystem, conservation initiatives, and upcoming activities.

Laguna Grande Expedition & Rainforest Exploration

Begin the day with breakfast before heading toward Laguna Grande, one of the most impressive areas of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. Navigate through the flooded igapó forest, where ancient trees rise from the water and create a unique habitat for orchids, bromeliads, birds, and other Amazonian species.

Continue with a guided rainforest walk through terra firme forest, learning about jungle ecosystems, wildlife behavior, and the complex relationships that sustain this incredible environment. In the afternoon, enjoy an evening canoe excursion through Laguna Grande, where the rainforest comes alive during sunset and the transition into the nocturnal world begins.

Siona & Cofán Community Experience

Continue with a visit to a nearby Cofán community, where you will learn about traditional medicinal plants, ancestral knowledge, and Amazonian healing practices. Experience the preparation of cassava bread (yuca), an important element of local culture and daily life.

Return to Amazon Lodge for dinner and a final opportunity to experience the sounds and mysteries of the rainforest at night.
